The Lust for Gold

When the roman soldier hankered for more salary, it was not difficult to satisfy, because he received a part of his salary in the form of salt.

The lust for gold is far more difficult to satisfy. For 600 million parts of sea water, there is only one part of gold. The gold reserve, yet to be mined, is estimated to be 41,000 tons.

What next? Man may start producing gold in nuclear reactors from elements like iridium and platinum!
